It gave me the WOW factor VS my current vacuum cleaner!
This is my first experience owning a Hoover vacuum cleaner. For my comprehensive review, I will compare the Hoover Wind Tunnel Max Steerable Upright Vacuum UH72450 head to head with the current one I own which is a Dyson DC25 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner. The Dyson DC25 has great suction power and the cyclonic technology maintains its no-loss suction. Upon opening the box, the Hoover Wind Tunnel Max needed minimal assembly, the 2-in-one crevice tool attachments goes into the slot and the handle bar/extension wand goes into a slot in the main vacuum unit and you are ready to use it. The vacuum unit is accented with green on mainly dark gray color and the turbo cleaning tool comes standard with the attachments.
My thoughts (as compared to the Dyson DC25 All Floors):
DESIGN: the Hoover Wind Tunnel Max Steerable Upright Vacuum UH72450 sports a similar modern design just like the Dyson...
Super Suction (Adjustable) and Easy to Use
I have a family of four plus four dogs and two cats so I'm also on the lookout for vacuum that has fantastic suction whether on bare floors or carpeted areas. I think the Hoover Wind Tunnel Max delivers on the suction, and has the most suction power I have ever had in a vacuum. I have been using a Shark Navigator Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner, NV22L for the past three years but I have noticed, as with most vacuums, that the suction isn't what it started out with. For the most part, my Shark Navigator functions as well as this Hoover but the Hoover has it beat in suction power (even comparing to when I first bought the Shark Navigator) and cleaning edges. With a full house, the vacuum with the most suction power will win every time.
The noise of this vacuum is about average.

I feel like I'm vacuuming with the cool kids now
After several years of cheap vacuums, which range from doing and "ok" job to a crappy one, I was THRILLED to finally get a real vacuum, that looks AND works a lot like an expensive brand that starts with the letter "D" (say it with a posh British accent). But I couldn't justify spending the money on the super expensive types, especially since 99% of our house is laminate flooring with area rugs. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs, 5 kids still in the home and our floor needs swept every day. I've had some success with other vacuums and laminate flooring - a couple did an "ok" job with getting up dog hair and miscellaneous stuff without blowing it everywhere (a common issue when vacuuming a hard surface). But they always lose suction after about a month, even with cleaning the filters. And the hoses are always a pain to set up.
Tonight was the first night I really used this (my husband did too) and we kept saying "Wow, who knew we'd be so excited about a VACUUM cleaner?!" (the...
