You could hide a skunk in a shoebox with this thing.
My condo stank to high heaven before I plugged this in with a 6" inline fan and now you could hide dead bodies without noticing the odor.
Messy
When I took this out-of-the-box carbon dust everywhere after I vacuumed it off it didn't lose anymore dust. does a really good job controlling odor in my grow room and it allows quite a bit of Air to flow-through
A little smaller than I thought...
I was hoping for a filter closer to 24" in length as opposed to this model's 18". Still, it does a great job at filtering out offensive odors when coupled with a 6in inline fan that moves about 440CFM. I am noticing a SLIGHT restriction in airflow, but the previous filter was larger, and weighed twice as much as this one did. That being said, odors are still filtered effectively, and the reversible flanges allow for a "refreshing" of the filter. Once it's been running for about 6 to 8 months, remove the flanges, and swap the ends that they are on. Voila! Now it can go another 6-8 months like new! The reason for this is most air filters have a tendency to only utilize about half of the actual filter. The airflow is strongest around the open flange where it connects to the ducting or fan. This means the lower/farther end of the filter receives less airflow, therefore less contaminants. Swapping the flanges around brings this fresher area of charcoal back to the top.
