Good filter, but NOT a 17884 replacement
I have an older 17923 Craftsman vac, and I was hoping this filter would fit as a replacement to the original 17884 filter. Nope - totally different. This 17816 filter is a newer "red stripe" type of filter and my vac takes the older "black stripe" type of filter. I gave this product 5 stars because it looks very well made and is probably an excellent replacement for new Craftsman vacs. I just wish Amazon carried the older 17884 "black stripe" filter.
its a craftsman filter
I have a 12 gallon craftsman shop vac. It fit great and is actually a craftsman labeled standard filter, not HEPA or for liquids.
Replacement Carftsman shop vac filter
It's an exact replacement for the one that came with the Sears shop vac. It will not hold up to washing since it is paper. Compressed air blown from the inside will prolong its use. There are better filters but they cost much more.
