Solid, quality fan
I tend to sleep with a small box-type fan on my bedside stand, but the usual "el cheapo" models I'd get at places like Wal-Mart seemed to wear out rather quickly. I decided this time around to get something a step or two up from the norm. Thus far I'm happy with my purchase: it's a solid, well-built fan without that cheap plastic finish I'd (unfortunately) grown accustomed to, and it delivers a stable breeze without being very noisy at all. I'm looking forward to a long, trouble-free life for this one.
Personal fan
Small and compact yet powerful fan. If you have a tight space and need some air flow, this works very well. Runs quietly.
On The Verge Of Satisfactory
Moves a decent amount of air for its small size -- adequate, but less than ideal for anything but the smallest room.
Generates loud white noise. (This is actually something I look for in a fan for my room, it helps me sleep through the night.) Less pleasantly, when placed on its side as intended, it emits an annoying clicking. Propping the fan up diagonally eliminated the clicking for me.
